Mid-Century Modern
Custom Details in a Mid-Century Modern Home Restoration Define 21st Century Style and Comfort
Fully restoring an entire 1956 mid-century modern home resulted in a one-of-a-kind residence—one that blends features and efficiencies of a modern home with mid-century style. The custom details of this project made it a pleasure to build, and the beauty speaks for itself.Â

A Thoughtful Revival, Inside and Out
To reclaim, and in many ways exceed its former glory, this mid-century modern home needed extensive structural and design updates. Restoring its foundation and replacing the basement slab set the stage. Outside, fresh cypress siding matched the original, while inside, reclaimed old-growth fir ceilings, planed and refinished, brought warmth. Custom-milled fir and sleek cabinetry transformed the kitchen, accented by handcrafted tiles. A bold concrete hearth and floating mantel became the heart of the home. New clad windows honored the past, while updated electrical, HVAC and plumbing ensured comfort. Now, every detail makes it a place to truly call home.
