Our client’s original plan for their home was a full renovation. After extensive planning and review of the project from start to completion, the cost for building a new home with the same floor plan was $15K less—including demolition of the existing home. This new, design and build, custom home is 3265 sq ft. The home’s exterior is fiber cement siding with PVC trim and century old reclaimed Old Chicago brick. Projecting a classic craftsman-style appearance on the exterior, this home is completed with a sleek and modern interior. Firmly constructed with “tilt-wall” panels and insulated with high R-value spray foam, The Yale Home provides a cozy quite environment that’s energy efficient and, like all our homes, it’s built with strong structural integrity. The spacious master suite was built on a reinforced suspended slab extending over the root system of a century old majestic Live Oak tree. This allowed the beloved tree to remain part of the home’s history and the new landscape design. Utilizing a “manifold” system for the smart plumbing, all valves are located in an easy to access panel in the garage—negating the necessity to locate numerous valves in hard to reach areas. The homes gracious driveway, walkways and three porches are also constructed with the same reclaimed Old Chicago brick. The Yale Home lives like a dream.
